Lectures, Slide Presentations & Trunk Shows:
1) “From Inspiration to Finished Project”
Using various aspects of the ocean as my inspiration, I walk the audience through the processes involved in developing designs, and then taking these designs into completed projects. Designing techniques and a variety of fabric and stitch possibilities will be discussed.
I bring a variety of samples of both design work and projects to put on display, and after the presentation, I invite anyone interested to come and take a closer look at these.
This presentation generally takes one hour with a question period to follow.
2) “My Quilting Path - from Traditional Quilter to Art Quilter”
In this presentation I share with the audience how I progressed from being a very traditional quilter in the 1970’s to my present day quilts. My slides show a wide range of quilts starting at my earliest ones through to my current pieces.
I talk about how if I can “step out of the box” anyone can. I have many samples of my work done while in the City & Guilds, Patchwork & Quilting program including design work, journals and paper quilts.
Generally I take an hour to share my story then have both a question time and chance for all present to look closely at my work.
